The S. Mason and Lula P. Cole Charitable Trust provides grants to non-profit organizations (501c3s) that serve the residents of the Northern Neck region of Virginia. The Cole Charitable Trust supports organizations that span a wide range of community needs.

S. Mason and Lula Cole were long-term residents of the Northern Neck of Virginia. They were charitable-minded during their lifetime and wanted to continue that legacy after their passing. Together with Chesapeake Wealth Management and the assistance of the Coles’ attorney, Ray Britt, the Coles created a trust that would provide for their beloved community long after they were gone. The Cole Charitable Trust has given over $2 million in support of community organizations.

Charitable Grants

The S. Mason and Lula P. Cole Charitable Trust provides grants to non-profit (501c3) organizations that serve the residents of the Northern Neck region of Virginia. ​The Cole Charitable Trust accepts applications until November 15th of each year.

GRANT APPLICATION CHECKLIST

Please make sure the following items are included in your submission:

  • Letter of request outlining your organization’s current needs
  • Annual budget statement
  • IRS letter verifying 501(c)3 tax status
